Root Films short documentary Civilians premieres in the Panorama section of the 20th Cinemambiente International Environmental Film Festival in Turin, Italy (May 31st - June 5th).
Directed by Toma Peiu, edited by Luiza Pârvu, Civilians is a contemporary city symphony: an exploration of life in the metropolis, framing everyday scenes in the streets of “the other New York”, representing five communities endangered by changes in the socio-economic paradigm and gentrification. The film was shot by Shan Jin, Toma Peiu and Luiza Pârvu, and produced in association with The New School University in New York.
Civilians screens at Massimo Cinema - Theater 3, on Friday, June 2nd, at 8pm, and on Saturday, June 3rd, at 4pm.
